Ward 2 Candidate Profile

On July 3rd, the Anacortes American and the Skagit Valley Herald contacted me to run a profile on the candidates running for our Anacortes City Council Ward 2 position. After participating in the Fourth of July Parade and enjoying the fireworks, I got back to the campaign. Focusing on the issues of Anacortes, I share my perspective on our wonderful city.

I am running because I am engaged in the community, serve on the Anacortes Planning Commission, past President of the Anacortes Arts Festival and I am raising our daughter in the same house in which I grew up, in Ward 2.

Preserving and enhancing the unique character of Anacortes that has been enjoyed by both our longtime and more recent residents is of utmost importance.  First, the city must work to increase the economic opportunities for our citizens.  Second, the city must actively address the challenges of housing that face much of Skagit County and Western Washington.  Third, as a city council member I look forward to the opportunity to improve engagement in our community.

Take a look at the full response to the Anacortes American’s questions here.

The Skagit Valley Herald wrote a nice piece on all of the Ward 2 Candidates here.
